Feb. 20, 1962 - Here is video of Lieut. Col. John Glenn's launch today at 9:47 a.m. His "Friendship 7" Mercury spacecraft was carried to orbit by an Atlas LV-3B launch vehicle at Cape Canaveral, Florida. The astronaut is currently orbiting the earth.
