Feb. 17, 1963 - The Communist empire is disintegrating, and free world strength and patience will bring it down, Vice President Johnson said today. Johnson said in a speech to the American Association of School Administrators in Atlantic City, N.J., that a split between Russia and China does not relieve the West of Communist threats and dangers. He said it may take years to accomplish, but he added: “There is clear and growing evidence that influences are now at work within the Communist world which may break the bonds with which the Communists have shackled both themselves and the people they rule. When the Communist empire was established, it was supposed to live forever. Like all the visions of world domination of the past, this Communist vision is being shattered, and a vital process of disintegration in the Communist camp has begun before our eyes.”
