Two More U.S. Casualties in Vietnam

Nov. 5, 1962 - Two members of the Tactical Air Command’s first air commando group who were killed in a crash in Vietnam were identified today. The dead were listed as Captain Robert D. Bennett (left), 31 years old, the pilot, and First Lieutenant William B. Tully (right), 26, the navigator. Both were on temporary duty in South Vietnam. Their plane went down about 160 miles southwest of Saigon. It was reported that the B-26 was hit by Communist ground fire. Captain Bennett leaves his wife and four children, all of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and his mother. Lieutenant Tully’s next of kin are his mother, Mrs. Theresa I. Tully of Maysville, Ky., and his father, William, of Lexington, Ky.
