Feb. 28, 1963 - On sale today is “Mr. Soul,” the ninth long-playing studio album by singer-songwriter Sam Cooke (pictured). The album was released by RCA Victor. Leaving the dance craze behind, Mr. Cooke, 32 years old, provides slinky, cocktail renditions of various cover songs — including one made famous by Frank Sinatra, “All The Way” — along with “I Wish You Love” and “These Foolish Things.”
