Aug. 4, 1963 - President Kennedy went to church this morning in Hyannis Port, Mass., and took along his 5-year-old daughter Caroline. Caroline delighted a crowd of about 500 that had gathered on the grounds of St. Francis Xavier Church for the President’s arrival. She smiled, held her father’s hand, and straightened the pocket flap of his jacket. It was Caroline’s first appearance at the church in Hyannis Port with her father. Earlier this year, she attended mass with him at Middleburg, Va. Later today, the Kennedy family went aboard the Presidential yacht Honey Fitz for a cruise on Nantucket Sound. The President will return to Washington tomorrow.
