Mar. 8, 1962 - Karen Black, a 20-year-old graduate of Northwestern University, has been signed by Harold Prince for the ingénue lead in the forthcoming musical, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.” Miss Black has been serving as stand-by for the college girl roles in “Take Her, She’s Mine.” The Stephen Sondheim-Burt Shevelove-Larry Gelbart musical is scheduled to open at the Alvin Theatre on May 3 under George Abbott’s direction.
