Aug. 28, 1963 - Mrs. Kenneth N. Good of San Marino, Calif., the widow of an Army captain killed Jan. 2, will be presented the first Silver Star medal awarded for heroism in action in Vietnam. Mrs. Good will accept her husband’s medal in ceremonies at Fort MacArthur in Los Angeles on Friday. Captain Good (pictured) was killed while serving as an adviser to a South Vietnamese infantry battalion. Struck by a sniper’s bullet, he was able to stabilize Vietnamese units before collapsing and dying from his wound.
