Feb. 25, 1963 - On sale now is “Please Please Me,” a single recording by the British rock-and-roll group The Beatles. The B-side is titled “From Me to You.” The recording, created last November 26 at Abbey Road Studios in London, was produced by George Martin. The Beatles, formed in Liverpool in 1960, are comprised of primary songwriters John Lennon and Paul McCartney, bassist George Harrison, and drummer Ringo Starr. The Beatles evolved from Lennon’s previous group, The Quarrymen, and they built their reputation playing clubs in Liverpool and Hamburg over the past three years.
