Nov. 18, 1963 - Here is a clip from President Kennedy’s remarks today to the Inter-American Press Association at the Americana Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida. In his speech, the President explained the civic function of the media, and identifies four major goals of the Alliance for Progress: social justice, economic welfare, peaceful international relations, and political democracy and stability in the western hemisphere.
