Dec. 23, 1962 - Deer sausage, topped with mistletoe and sprays of holly, was delivered to the homes of Cabinet members and most top Government officials this week. It was a gift from Vice President and Mrs. Lyndon B. Johnson and came straight from the Johnsons’ LBJ ranch in Texas. The recipe, which yields 200 pounds of sausage, is as follows:
One-half deer.
One-half hog.
25 ounces of salt.
20 ounces of black pepper.
8 ounces of red pepper.
2 ounces of sage.
