Ulla Strömstedt to Join Cast of “Flipper”

June 28, 1965 - “Flipper,” the children’s program starring a bottlenose dolphin, will get a feminine interest next season — for men, not dolphins. She is Ulla Strömstedt, a Swedish actress who will appear on seven of the first 13 programs on NBC’s Saturday night series.

At the same time, it was learned that Tommy Norden, the freckle-faced younger son of Brian Kelly on the program, will not be back in the fall. His leave-taking was attributed to “contractual difficulties,” but the parting was called “amicable.”

The first two programs are already in production in Miami, minus Master Norden, whose absence will be attributed to his being away at school. Another young actor will replace him.

Miss Strömstedt will play an oceanographer who comes to study at Coral Key Park and becomes involved in its problems and those of water ranger Porter Ricks (Kelly), his two sons, and Flipper.
