Sept. 14, 1964 - “Wendy and Me,” a new half-hour situation comedy, premieres tonight on ABC-TV at 9 p.m.
In the series (a slight variation of “The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show”), George Burns plays a somewhat fictionalized version of himself. He is the owner of an apartment building, while Connie Stevens plays his tenant, Wendy Conway.
Episodes will typically revolve around Wendy pulling Burns into comedic situations involving her husband, played by Ron Harper, and other people in the building. As a regular part of the show’s format, Burns comments directly to the audience about the episode’s events.
