Sept. 18, 1964 - On tonight’s series premiere of “Twelve O’Clock High,” Brig. Gen. Frank Savage (Robert Lansing) is the commander of the 918th Bomb Group, a B-17 unit operating out of England during World War II. One of his pilots, Capt. Gallagher (Paul Burke, pictured), is displaying a habit of not completing missions due to technical issues. Angered by this, Savage gives Gallagher a crew of malingerers and malcontents, has their plane named “Leper Colony,” and generally makes life tough for Gallagher. 9:30 p.m. on ABC.
