Oct. 2, 1962 - Tonight marks the series premiere of “Combat,” a show covering the grim lives of a squad of American soldiers fighting the Germans in France during World War II. On tonight’s episode, the GI’s, searching for a Nazi gun emplacement, try to pump information from a German deserter who is unsure of his loyalties. The program stars Rick Jason (right) as platoon leader Second Lieut. Gil Hanley and Vic Morrow (left) as Sergeant "Chip" Saunders. Jason and Morrow will play the lead in alternating episodes. 7:30 p.m. on ABC.
