May 5, 1965 - Elsa Lanchester will be a co-star of “The John Forsythe Show,” a comedy series to be televised by NBC next season. She will portray the principal of a girls school that is inherited by Mr. Forsythe.
In other T.V. news, more plans for color television were announced today by CBS and ABC.
Six shows added to the CBS list were “The Beverly Hillbillies,” “Gilligan’s Island,” “The Lucy Show,” “Hogan’s Heroes,” “Lassie,” and “My Favorite Martian.” Earlier, CBS had said the Danny Kaye and Red Skelton shows would switch to color and that most of its motion picture feature films would be in color. By the fall of 1966, the entire evening schedule of CBS will probably be in color.
ABC added “The Hollywood Palace” and “The King Family” to its color list. Other ABC shows to be done in color include “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea,” “The F.B.I.,” “Gidget,” “The Big Valley,” “The Flintstones,” and at least five episodes of “Ozzie and Harriet.”
