Feb. 26, 1962 - The “Red Skelton Show” will be expanded to an hour next fall and televised by CBS on Tuesdays from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. The additional time will “provide a framework giving wider range” to the comedian’s talents, according to James T. Aubrey Jr., president of the CBS television network. He said Mr. Skelton had signed a six-year contract with CBS. It will not be the first time that Mr. Skelton has starred in an hour-long weekly series. In 1954, he was a six-week summer replacement for “Arthur Godfrey and His Friends.” That fall, he returned to a half-hour program, which he has maintained until now.
