Aug. 3, 1962 - January 1963 will mark the arrival of NBC’s new “Wild Kingdom,” which will bring back Marlin Perkins (pictured in 1951), the zoologist whose “Zoo Parade” was a popular network feature from 1949 to 1957. With Mr. Perkins as narrator, the half-hour show will be seen Sundays at 3:30 p.m. It will visit, by means of film, wildlife around the world. In addition, viewers will see Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo, where Mr. Perkins is director, and the St. Louis Zoo, which he will join as director in October. The 14 shows will be sponsored by Mutual of Omaha, the insurance company.
