TV: Jan and Dean Perform on “The Hollywood Palace”

Feb. 27, 1965 - Tonight’s edition of “The Hollywood Palace” will be hosted by Roy Rogers, and the musical guests are the Jan and Dean. The rock duo’s “Surf City” was the first surf song ever to reach the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. The duo has also charted with “Baby Talk,” “Drag City,” “Dead Man’s Curve,” and “The Little Old Lady from Pasadena.” Shelley Berman will perform a comic routine. 9:30 p.m. on ABC.
