Feb. 13, 1962 - Carol Burnett (left) will vacate her permanent niche on Garry Moore’s variety show on CBS-TV at the end of the season. However, the comedienne will return for a number of guest star appearances on Mr. Moore’s show. Miss Burnett and Mr. Moore (right) said today that their parting was amicable. “Carol is moving into areas which she should now enter,” said Mr. Moore. “Any performance she gives is a strenuous effort. When she was appearing here each week at the same time that she was starring in theatre in ‘Once Upon a Mattress’ it nearly ruined her health.” Miss Burnett has been on the Moore show for three years.
