Nov. 23, 1961 - Bowling balls will roar on television on 16 Saturday afternoons starting Jan. 6. ABC will televise the winter tournament tour of the Professional Bowlers Association from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. It will originate in different cities. All but three of the matches will be covered live. The prizes for winning contestants will total $500,000. Sponsors for the series will be the Brunswick Corporation, General Mills, Inc., and the Gillette Company.
