Tonight on “Dr. Kildare”

Oct. 29, 1964 - Tonight on “Dr. Kildare,” Buddy Bishop (Lee Marvin, right), a baseball pitcher approaching the end of his career, resists having an operation which could save his life but sideline him for the rest of the season. While in the hospital, he encourages a young boy dying of cystic fibrosis to keep fighting to live rather than just lying in bed, angering the boy’s father.
