Three American Nazis Arrested at NYC Demonstration

Mar. 3, 1962 - Three members of the American Nazi party were arrested last night and charged with wearing illegal uniforms while picketing a rally at New York’s Carnegie Hall sponsored by The Worker, a Communist newspaper. The three Nazi party members were arrested after the police had asked them to stop picketing the Seventh Avenue side of the hall while wearing khaki uniforms with Nazi armbands. They were identified as Seth Ryan, 23 years old; Anthony Wells, 24, and Paul Uhrig, 18. All said they resided at 928 North Randolph Street, Arlington, Va., the headquarters of the party. The rally was called by The Worker to protest the serving of subpoenas on a number of members of the staff by a Federal grand jury in Washington investigating Communist activity in the country.
