Nov. 2, 1961 - The old Truman Administration took over the White House last night. Surrounded by old friends and aides, former President Harry S. Truman was honored at a dinner given by President and Mrs. Kennedy. The former Margaret Truman, now Mrs. Clifton Daniel of New York, was present with her husband. Not since the last night of the Truman Administration in January, 1953, had the family spent the night at the White House. The party lasted until after 11 p.m. Mr. Truman went to the piano and played for the dinner guests after one of his favorite musicians, Eugene List, had performed a program of Mr. Truman’s favorites.
