The Kennedys Go Skiing

Dec. 26, 1964 - Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy (pictured yesterday at Kennedy Airport) and her children began their skiing holiday in Denver, Colorado, today. The widow of President Kennedy took ski lessons on 7,900‐foot Buttermilk Mountain, where there is more than two feet of snow.

Mrs. Kennedy, a novice at the sport, was coached on a beginners’ slope by Tim Carter, a professional Alpine racer. She wore a bright blue outfit with white stripes on the jacket. Caroline, 7 years old, and John Jr., 4, wore light sky‐blue parkas and pants.

Skiing on the more advanced slopes were the late President’s brother, Senator-elect Robert F. Kennedy (D-N.Y.), and four of the Senator’s children. They came to Colorado yesterday from Washington. Senator Kennedy and his children attended a 7 a.m. Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church before skiing.
