Aug. 28, 1961 - Warren Spahn scored the 304th victory of his career and his 16th this season when he pitched the Braves to a 7-1 triumph over the Phillies today. Spahn was in trouble at times but pitched his way out. The only run off the 40-year-old southpaw was unearned - the result of a single, a walk, and errors by Eddie Mathews and Joe Adcock. Milwaukee remains seven games behind league-leading Cincinnati.
