Princeton Tops Harvard as Bradley Breaks Hoops Record

Feb. 15, 1964 - Bill Bradley scored 51 points tonight to break his Ivy League record as Princeton defeated Harvard, 87-56, before 2,700 fans at Princeton’s Dillon Gymnasium. Bradley left the game with 2:59 remaining after he had made two free throws that gave him the record. While he was in the game, Bradley outscored the entire Harvard team by 3 points. In all, he set seven records. His 18 field goals broke the gym and Ivy mark of 16 that he had tied last night. The previous gym mark for total points was set by George Farley of Cornell in 1960 with 47. Bradley now has 695 points this season, 13 more than the Princeton record he set last year.
