June 9, 1964 - The top price at two Broadway musical hits, “Funny Girl” and “Hello, Dolly!,” is going up. The most expensive ticket is $9.90 at “Fade Out - Fade In,” starring Carol Burnett (pictured).
Starting Monday, the highest price at “Funny Girl,” starring Barbra Streisand, will be $9.60 every night. Orchestra tickets at the Winter Garden now cost $8.80 from Monday through Thursday nights and $9.40 on Friday and Saturday nights.
The jump at “Hello, Dolly!,” which stars Carol Channing, becomes effective June 29, when orchestra tickets will be $9.60 every night. The present charge at the St. James is $8.80 from Monday through Thursday nights and $9.40 on Friday and Saturday nights.
