Aug. 27, 1961 - President Kennedy spent a quiet holiday on Cape Cod today. He attended church this morning and went boating this afternoon. But he was never far from contact with the crisis in Berlin. Mr. Kennedy also telegraphed a "warm personal greeting" to Vice President Johnson, whose 53rd birthday was today. Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy attended mass at St. Francis Xavier Church at 10 a.m. Mrs. Kennedy got an enthusiastic greeting from a group of girls who called out that they were students at her old school, Miss Porter's in Farmington, Conn.
