June 26, 1964 - Applause greeted “John F. Kennedy in Berlin,” an American color film that was shown tonight at the opening of the Berlin Film Festival.
The film portrayed President Kennedy, whose brother, Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, is in the city today.
The biggest ovation occurred when Sidney Poitier (pictured), one of the visiting film celebrities, was introduced to the audience. Mr. Poitier has won two Berlin festival prizes. He was leading the American delegation.
