June 2, 1962 - The Pirates’ long-ball power and Vernon Law’s 10-hit pitching whipped the Houston Colts today, 9-2, for the Pirates’ seventh straight victory. Pittsburgh battered three pitchers for twelve hits, including a three-run homer by Roberto Clemente (pictured), a two-run homer by Dick Stuart, two triples by Don Hoak, and a double by Law. It was Law’s third straight complete-game victory against one loss.
