Pirates Top Braves On Strength of 7-Run 8th Inning

June 15, 1962 - The Pittsburgh Pirates rallied for 7 runs in the eighth inning today to defeat the Milwaukee Braves, 9-8, and run their winning streak to 7 games. Trailing by 8-2, the Pirates sent 11 batters to the plate. Seven of them got hits, including a grand slam by Roberto Clemente. Dick Groat’s single drove in Howie Goss with the tie-breaking run. Milwaukee had taken the lead on the hitting of Hank Aaron. He had four hits, including a grand slam. It was Aaron’s 13th homer of the season.
