Feb. 19, 1964 - Peter Sellers and Britt Eklund, a Swedish actress, were married in a civil ceremony today in Guildford, England, while a crowd of more than 1,000 persons struggled with the police to catch a glimpse of the couple. Mr. Sellers, the 38-year-old actor, and his 21-year-old bride were wed in the Registry Office, which was candle-lit and filled with flowers. It was just four weeks since the couple had first met. The 15-minute service was attended by 12 friends and relatives, including the film star’s mother and the bride’s parents from Stockholm. Mr. Sellers is currently appearing in the film “Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb,” in which he plays three roles. Miss Eklund’s most recent film appearance was in “The Prize.”
