Mar. 9, 1965 - Patricia Neal (pictured in “Hud”), who was near death after suffering two strokes on Feb. 17, has improved and is no longer in critical condition, her doctor reported today.
The 39-year-old actress had undergone brain surgery at the UCLA Medical Center.
In a statement released today, the doctor would say only:“Patricia Neal is longer on the critical list. There has been some slight improvement in her condition.”There was no indication whether she has regained consciousness. She entered a prolonged state of unconsciousness at the time of the massive strokes.
The report was accompanied by confirmation that Miss Neal remains in the intensive care ward of the medical center with no indication when she will be released or transferred.
