Aug. 10, 1961 - Vito (Babe) Parilla (pictured) twice led the Boston Patriots on long scoring marches today, leading to a 14-3 victory over the New York Titans in an exhibition game between AFL teams. Parilli, acquired in a trade with Oakland, touched off the Patriot attack with the added threat of his running as the Patriots launched their preseason schedule before 15,387 fans who braved the 90-degree heat at Boston University Field. Meanwhile, Boston defenders gave an uncomfortable night to the Titans' passing ace, Al Dorow, who had thrown for nearly 450 yards in the 39-28 exhibition loss to Dallas last week. Boston's defense is much improved.
