Packers Top Bears as Army-Bound Hornung Shines

Nov. 12, 1961 - Bart Starr hurled three touchdown passes, one of them to Army-bound Paul Hornung, who scored 19 points today as the Green Bay Packers downed the Chicago Bears, 31-28, in an NFL game. Hornung scored on an 8-yard run, a 34-yard pass from Starr, 4 extra-point conversions, and a 51-yard field goal. The points raised Hornung’s total to 130 for the season and fortified the Packers’ Western Conference lead. They now have a 7-2 record. The defeat all but dropped the Bears out of contention with a 5-4 mark.
