On Sale Today: Kinks Single, “Tired of Waiting for You”

Feb. 17, 1965 - On sale today is the latest single from The Kinks, “Tired of Waiting for You.” The B-side is “Come on Now.”

According to band member Ray Davies, the music for “Tired of Waiting for You” was written on the train to the recording studio and the words were written at a coffee shop during a break in the session. The track was a leftover from the sessions of the band’s debut album. 

The song was recorded on Aug. 24 at Pye Studios in London. “Come On Now” was recorded on Dec. 23.
