June 25, 1965 - On sale today is “Catch the Wind,” the debut American album release by Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan.
The album was released in the U.S. as “What’s Been Did and What’s Been Hid” on May 14, but was retitled “Catch the Wind” for the U.S. Hickory Records changed the title to match that of Donovan’s debut single. The single was re-recorded by Donovan for the album.
The music primarily consists of Donovan, who emerged from the British folk scene earlier this year, singing and playing harmonica and acoustic guitar, much like his live performances.
