June 14, 1965 - On sale today is “Beatles VI,” the seventh Capitol Records studio album by the Beatles — including “The Beatles’ Story” to be released in the U.S. and Canada. The title of the album is therefore erroneous.
“Beatles VI” includes two tracks, both featuring John Lennon on lead vocals, recorded specifically for the North American market: “Bad Boy” and “Dizzy Miss Lizzy,” both covers of Larry Williams songs.
“Beatles VI” also includes six tracks from the British LP, “Beatles for Sale,” i.e. those left off the American release, “Beatles ’65.” The six tracks are “Kansas City/Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey,” “Eight Days a Week,” “Words of Love,” “Every Little Thing,” “I Don’t Want to Spoil the Party,” and “What You’re Doing.”
