Dec. 15, 1964 - On sale today in the U.S. and is “Beatles ’65,” the group’s fifth studio album culled by Capitol Records in this country from the Beatles’ EMI releases — in this case, “Beatles for Sale,” released in the U.K. Dec. 4.
“Beatles ’65” includes eight of the 14 songs from “Beatles for Sale.” It also includes “I’ll Be Back,” which was cut from the U.S. version of the “Hard Day’s Night” album, and both sides of the single “I Feel Fine/She’s a Woman.” The latter two songs have been issued in “duophonic” stereo and include added reverb to cover up the use of the mono mixes sent from the U.K. Other than “I’ll Be Back,” which was recorded June 1, the Beatles recorded all of the songs on “Beatles ’65” between Aug. 11 and Oct. 26. at EMI Studios in London.
