On Sale Today: “Beach Boys Concert”

Oct. 19, 1964 - On sale today is “Beach Boys Concert,” the first live album by the Beach Boys. It is the group’s seventh album in all and their third this year, after “Shut Down Volume 2” and “All Summer Long.”

The album was recorded live at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium last December, although it received heavy post-production treatment. The album includes several songs the Beach Boys regularly perform live but which have not previously been included on an album, including “The Little Old Lady from Pasadena,” “Long Tall Texan,” “Monster Mash,” “Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow,” “The Wanderer,” “Graduation Day,” and “Johnny B. Goode.”

Alongside these numbers is a sampling of their hits, such as “Hawaii,” “Fun, Fun, Fun,” “In My Room,” “Little Deuce Coupe,” and “I Get Around.”
