Sept. 10, 1963 - The Oldsmobile division of General Motors introduced a hybrid car series today as its new entry for 1964. The four-model series, the Jetstar 88, is a lower-priced companion to the long-established Dynamic and Super 88 series. It is on the same 123-inch wheelbase and is 215.3 inches long. The Jetstars are powered by a new, smaller 245-horsepower V-8 engine. The Jetstar series follows the styling theme of its more expensive, metal-bedecked siblings. It is chrome-free and exceptionally clean in line.
