July 28, 1963 - The Doris Day-James Garner picture “The Thrill of It All” will open at Los Angeles’s Westwood Village Theater on Tuesday evening, Aug. 6, with an invitational premiere. Written by Carl Reiner and directed by Norman Jewison, “The Thrill of It All” spotlights a young doctor and his penny-pinching wife who is suddenly thrust into television stardom as a “pitchwoman” for a soap company. The supporting cast features Reiner, Arlene Francis, Reginald Owen, and the late ZaSu Pitts.
