Movies: “The Strangler”

Apr. 8, 1964 - Opening today is “The Strangler,” a psychological thriller film directed by Burt Topper and starring Victor Buono, David McLean, Davey Davison, and Ellen Corby.

“The Strangler” deals with a disturbed lab technician who embarks on a serial killing spree of young female victims. The film was inspired by the Boston Strangler, a serial killer still at large who murdered several women in the Boston area starting in June 1962. The setting of the film, which was originally called “The Boston Strangler,” was changed to an unnamed city in the United States.
