Sept. 24, 1962 - David Susskind’s film production of “Requiem for a Heavyweight,” with a screenplay by Rod Serling, will have a dual premiere on Oct. 16 at New York’s Criterion and at the new Kips Bay Theater, at Second Avenue and 31st St. The premiere is for the benefit of the Heart Institute to be built by the New York Medical College. Anthony Quinn (pictured), Jackie Gleason, Mickey Rooney, and Julie Harris are in the film, which was directed by Ralph Nelson. Heavyweight boxer Cassius Clay makes a cameo appearance.
