Mar. 31, 1963 - Elvis Presley, Joan O’Brien, and Gary Lockwood star in “It Happened at the World’s Fair,” opening Wednesday at theatres and drive-ins. It was filmed in Seattle, Washington, site of the Century 21 Exposition and the Seattle World’s Fair. The Seattle Center Monorail and the Space Needle serve as backdrops for several scenes. Mike (Presley) and Danny (Lockwood) hitch a ride to the World's Fair in Seattle after the sheriff seizes their crop-duster biplane to cover Danny's gambling debts. While Danny tries to earn money playing poker, Mike takes care of a small girl, Sue-Lin (Vicky Tiu, right), whose Uncle Walter has disappeared. Being a ladies' man, he also finds the time to court a young nurse named Diane (O’Brien).
