Nov. 21, 1964 - Opening today is “Four Days in November,” a documentary film directed by Mel Stuart about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963.
The film includes Dallas radio and television coverage of Kennedy’s arrival at Love Field, the progression of the motorcade, the first local bulletin of the shooting, reports at Parkland Hospital, and the official announcement of Kennedy’s death by Malcolm Kilduff.
Amateur films and photos include scenes along the motorcade route, Orville Nix’s films of the motorcade entering Dealey Plaza, Mary Moorman’s photo taken just a fraction of a second after the fatal shot, and Bob Jackson’s photo of Jack Ruby shooting Lee Harvey Oswald at the Dallas City Jail on Nov. 24, 1963.
The opening credits indicate that “certain scenes have been recreated in the original locations by the actual participants.”
