Dec. 10, 1964 - Opening today is “Father Goose,” a Technicolor romantic comedy set in World War II, starring Cary Grant (left), Leslie Caron (right), and Trevor Howard. The title is a play on the children’s fictional character of “Mother Goose,” which is used as a code name assigned to the coast watcher character played by Grant. “Father Goose” was filmed on location in Jamaica beginning in May of this year.
The story deals with Walter Eckland (Grant), a man who is persuaded to live on an isolated island and spot aircraft. Walter soon finds himself responsible for a teacher (Caron) and several students — all female.
