Mar. 20, 1963 - The New York Mets made inquiries about Duke Snider (pictured at Ebbets Field in 1955) today, but the Los Angeles Dodgers will wait 10 days before deciding whether to keep the 36-year-old outfielder. The clubs’ general managers, Buzzie Bavasi of the Dodgers and George Weiss of the Mets, discussed a possible Snider deal today after the Mets had beaten the Dodgers, 4-3. Snider told Bavasi recently that he would prefer to be traded if he could not play regularly.
