Feb. 27, 1963 - Sandy Koufax, the No. 1 question mark of the Los Angeles Dodgers, is beginning to erase some of the doubts. The fireballing left-hander, sidelined by a finger ailment during the second half of the 1962 season, pitched 30 minutes on the sidelines today for the second day in a row. He plans to throw batting practice tomorrow. Koufax, who was to have taken it easy during the early stages of spring training, is ahead of schedule. “I think I’m in a better groove now than I’ve ever been at this time,” he remarked today.
