Julie Harris Signed for Paul Newman Film

June 6, 1965 - Julie Harris has been signed to play a featured role in “The Moving Target,” a detective mystery scheduled to be filmed soon by Warner Brothers. Jack Smight (right with Paul Newman) will direct, and Elliott Kastner and Jerry Gershwin will produce the film, which has Paul Newman, Lauren Bacall, Shelley Winters, and Pamela Tiffin in other principal roles. 

Newman will play Lew Archer, the hero of a series of detective novels by Ross Macdonald. “The Moving Target,” published in 1949, was the first of 11 novels in the series thus far.
